THE SEASON

The growth of the vines did not start until late, mid-April. Flowering was rapid and uniform for all grape varieties thanks to the warm and dry months of May and June. We were then faced with a slight water stress comforted by a month of July without rain. The bunches resisted well but took a little delay with sometimes blocking the veraison. This ended up with the providential rains at the end of the month and everything was caught up in mid-August. Then the ripening of the berries was favored by cool nights and rains without negative effects on the potential quality of the grapes. Everything was harvested by hand, all on September from 23 to 24 for Les Roses de Marie, then it continued from 24 for the first Merlots to 28 for the others. The rest was done following; September 30 and October 1 for Cabernet-Sauvignon and October 2 for Cabernet Franc and Petits Verdots. This solar vintage needed up to be picked up at the right time; neither too early to reach full maturity, nor too late to preserve freshness and avoid over-ripeness, that leads to heaviness and excessively high alcohol levels ... 50% were carried out directly in open barrels, the fermentation required great vigilance due in particular to fairly low acidity levels which can create a hardening of the tannins or an imbalance in the wines. The first tastings after runoff were promising, with deep colors, very expressive noses, very dense mouths, well structured and balanced, of great length ... everything you would expect from a great Bordeaux!

Except a slight water stress during the summer, the season went off without a hitch.

Garnet hue, (slightly evolved for the vintage).
Bright fruit evoking notes of candied fruit all carried by a solar character. Airing gives way to much more spice and notes of black olive.
Delicate and sweet mouth accompanied by acidity on the finish. Its profile is airy and leaves a nice aromatic afterglow.
This wine even has a tendency to “pinch. "
